The Staves

Kolmen englantilaissisaren muodostama The Staves on minulle varsin uusi tuttavuus, johon ihastuin oitis. Akustista folkia soittava trio julkaisi tässä kuussa kolmannen EP:nsä, joka kantaa nimeä The Motherlode EP. Sitä edeltää viime vuonna julkaistu Mexico EP ja vuonna 2010 julkaistu Facing West EP. Sisarukset ovat myös laittaneet ilmaiseksi jakoon livetallenteen Live At Cecil Sharp House EP (2011), joka sisältää kaksi kappaletta. Omien julkaisujen lisäksi siskoksia kuultiin viime vuonna Fionn Reganin 100 Acres of Sycamore -levyllä biisissä North Star Lover. Neidot aloittavat ensi kuussa kiertueen Bon Iverin kanssa, mutta tuskinpa tulevat Suomeen asti. Ainakaan heidän kotisivuillaan ei siitä ole tietoa, mutta aina kannattaa toivoa. Kovin mielelläni näkisin tämän trion livenä ja uppoutuisin unenomaisiin biiseihin.

The Staves - Mexico EP by The Staves

The Staves are three sisters from England who play acoustic folk. They released their third EP by the name of "The Motherlode EP" this month.  Before this they've released one called "The Mexico EP" in 2011 and "Facing West EP" in 2010. They've also released a free live recording "Live At Cecil Sharp House EP" that contains two songs. Last year the sisters also provided backing vocals to the track "North Star Lover" on Fionn Regan's album "100 Acres of Sycamore". Next month The Staves will begin to tour with Bon Iver but I doubt they will come to Finland with him.
