Oh Take My Soul

Jatkan samaa virttä: uutta musiikkia tulee niin jatkuvalla syötöllä, että en mitenkään ehdi kuunnella saati sisäistää kaikkea. Nyt kun olen saanut irrottauduttua Tori Amosin keikan jälkeisestä hurmostilasta kuuntelemaan jotain muutakin, on yksi levyt soinut tiuhaan ja ihastuttaa aina vain enemmän ja enemmän. Brittiläisen Lanterns On The Laken viime kuussa julkaistu kokopitkä albumi Gracious Tide, Take Me Home on hauraan kaunis ja tunnelmallinen, ja sopii syksyn haikeuteen ja kiireettömiin hetkiin täydellisesti tuoden samalla jo kristallisia kaikuja talvesta. Jos pidät bändeistä kuten The Album Leaf, The Deer Tracks, Múm ja Explosions in the Sky niin  uskon, että tämä miellyttää.

GIANTS

I'm singing this same old song: so much new music is being released that I don't have the time to listen to it all properly. But now that I've been able to listen to something else besides Tori Amos after her amazing gig I've been listening to one particular album a lot and it just gets better and better after each listen. I'm talking about a British band called Lanterns On The Lake. They just released their first full length album "Gracious Tide, Take Me Home" last month. The whole album is delicate, full of feeling and perfect for this melancholy autumn. If you like bands such as The Album Leaf, The Deer Tracks, Múm and Explosions in the Sky then I'm sure you'll like this too. My favourite from the album is "You're Almost There", video embedded above. Lanterns On The Lake has also released two EP's before their full length album and in my opinion one of the best songs from them is "Giants" (which you can also listen above).
